SO whats the difference? I had this interesting observation though I may be wrong. ....
When we talk about the styles of worship, we think "Oh the children have those kiddy songs with so much actions", "The teens, oh the have the electric guitars and drums... very rock stuff, and the adults they have great musicians and choirs very slick on stage"
Hmmmm.. ok. Problem 1. The style of worship for a child is different. Its what we impose on them. Let me explain. have you ever look at the children. Its usually those in the front who would do actions (and this is really dependant on the teacher) MOSt would sit back.. and stare. If it were the youths they would be jumping.. the adults would be singing.
If we ask our selves and look back. How did we learn to worship? I may be over critical if I say that.. with the noise and music, adults and youths sometimes choose to worship on our own terms. we do up worship in a style that suits us. Don't get me wrong, that's perfectly fine. Only now.. when style becomes the a priori criteria, we can forget what we doing.
So what am I doing by saying all these. Lets think about it. If childhood be the time we learn about worship, then we ought to direct and teach the children about the whole aspect of worship. This is especially crucial. CM worship isn't about us doing actions and fulfilling a compulsory 20 min "Song and Dance" slot, but a segment of worship. IF they grow up with no inkling of what worship is, they would very well mimic that of a youth standing and jumping, an adult, looking singing verociously yet not having a clue of what the lyrics mean.
Therefore what I am saying is.... we as a team have a great responsibility to reach out to teach our children... who we worship and with the gist of worship in place, the stylistics become secondary.

I still have trouble connecting with those kids who sit at the back and stare blankly, or those who just look but wun sing. Really wonder what's going on in their minds.
